We are pleased to notify Mhondoro Ngezi district residents and all other stakeholders that our budget has approved for the year 2025. Therefore, all our clients are being encouraged to pay their dues to Mhondoro Ngezi Rural District Council.
Mhondoro Ngezi Rural District Council participated in the Mashonaland West Province Clean Cities Completion led by Environmental Management Agency. All Mash West Province rural districts, municipalities and local boards took part in the competition and were assessed in refuse collection, recycling initiatives (CBOs), city greening, clean orderly CBD with adequate bin population, planning and documentation. An award-winning ceremony was held at Chegutu Municipality Offices graced by the Honorable Minister of Local Government Public Works and National Housing Honorable Minister D. Garwe represented by his Deputy Minister Honorable Engineer B. Kabikira accompanied by Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Honorable M. Chombo represented by the permanent Secretary in her office Mr. Jaji. Mhondoro Ngezi Rural District Council won 3 awards including the best in refuse collection (Shield and Certificate), clean orderly CBD with adequate bin population (Shield and Certificate) and Overall winner local authority in rural areas (Trophy and Certificate).
Mhondoro Ngezi RDC participated at the Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo showcasing vast opportunities for tourism within our district. This didn’t go unnoticed with our efforts being awarded 1st Runner Best Rural, Culture & Heritage Stand.
Mhondoro Ngezi RDC awarded an award for Outstanding Service in Local Authority Rural. The award was given by Zimbabwe CEO’s Network for outstanding service delivery to the community of Mhondoro Ngezi District.
Portable water is now accessible to Cycle G community which used to walk more than 5 km to the nearest water point. Previously efforts were done involving drilling of boreholes proving futile. Therefore, a decision was made to draw water from Munyati river spanning a distance of more than 4 km.
Cycle G piped water scheme is now at 80% completion stage with water being accessible, bringing much needed relief to the community. Water points have been established reducing the walking distance significantly to 300 meters.
Mhondoro Ngezi Rural District Council was awarded the President’s best performer award for service delivery for 2023. The awards were conferred to the Council CEO DR I.A Mawonde and Chairman Alderman E.P Chengeta.
The signing of the performance contracts was initiated by the President Mnangagwa with Government officials and heads of parastatals signing portfolio-specific contracts.
In his remarks, President Mnangagwa said the performance contracts were necessary in fostering a culture that prioritizes the meeting of Zimbabweans’ aspirations and expectations, while also that no one and no place is left behind.
This comes as the Second Republic continues to foster a culture of excellence, work ethic, and servant leadership in its quest to attain Vision 2030.
